Clare Crowther – Head of Nursery

Clare was appointed as a consultant to oversee the set up of Norland Nursery in the first instance, and then accepted the head of nursery post from which she now leads the team of staff in supporting the care and education of the children and their families.

Clare’s professional background is immersed in early years, including the leading of a large children’s centre, the coordination of forest schools, and the training and continued professional development of the early years workforce to level 7. Clare has written several publications, and until recently wrote monthly articles for a leading nursery magazine. 

Clare’s passion remains in early years and she aims to generate excitement amongst her team for the importance of working with young children.

Liz Farmer – Nursery Administrator

Liz holds responsibility for the day to day administration including place allocation, invoicing and arranging settling visits for new children. As such Liz is a very important person to know at nursery!  Liz joined the nursery on its opening. Prior to this role Liz worked in various administrative roles, including customer service and HR. Liz is a valued member of the team, and happy to help with any general enquiry.

Kate Morgan - Nursery Administrator

Kate has joined us on a permanent basis after providing temporary support to Clare and the team. Kate provides admin and project support to Clare, Liz and the Nursery team.

Kate has a teenage son and has worked in a office environment for over 20 years and loves working  at the Nursery!

Lucy Whitaker - Admin Support Officer

Lucy supports Clare Crowther and Liz Farmer on administrative tasks within the nursery.

Before coming to Norland Nursery Lucy worked as a Sales Assistant in My Small World.

Lucy loves to play outside and often gets involved in role play with her two sons Frank and Stanley. 

Geoff Bell – Nursery Chef

Geoff joined the nursery team as nursery chef in Spring 2010. Geoff’s experience includes the running and management of large kitchens. Geoff is passionate about the food he creates for the children and strives to ensure each child receives a rich daily culinary experience. Have a look at this months menus to see his latest work!

Nicki Carr – Senior Early Years Educator (Maternity Leave)

Nicki is NNEB trained through Norland College. On completion of her training, Nicki worked for six years in private homes before moving into nursery employment. Prior to joining Norland Nursery Nicki worked at a pre prep school in Bath, where she continued her own studies completing a degree in Early Years and finally a PGCE. Nicki also holds Early Years Professional Status and takes a lead role in developing the learning of all children at the nursery.

Laura Mitchell - Senior Early Years Educator (Maternity Leave)

Laura began her professional career by completion a BTEC National Diploma in Early Years in 1997 within a private family home while caring for two families. Laura completed this post and went on to experience being a ski nanny in France. Prior to joining Norland Nursery Laura also worked as a senior practitioner within the YMCA nursery in the centre of Bath. Whilst at this setting, Laura completed a BA (Hons) in Early Years and gained Early Years Professional Status in 2009. Laura works at Norland Nursery as a senior practitioner, taking a lead role in the learning and development of all children.

Stella Woolcott - Senior Early Years Educator

Stlla has been working with children in nursery environments for just over five years, following her studies at Bath College when she gained a BTEC National Diploma in Early Years. Stella finds working with young children very rewarding and has a special interest in developing children’s self esteem through presenting them with small achievable tasks that capture their interest and imagination. 

Beth Attwell - Early Years Educator

Beth has completed a level 3 BTEC in Childcare and has joined the creative room team at Norland Nursery. This is the first nursery Beth has worked in.

Beth loves making things and getting messy with the children.  

Emily Beaverstock - Early Years Educator

Emily studied at Bath College gaining a BTEC National Diploma in Early Years Care and Education. Following her studies Emily joined the nursery as it opened and quickly became a valued member of the team. Emily is a key person for a mixed age group of children and often can be seen sharing her musical talents with them. Emily has responsibility of developing the ICT within the nursery, and is also involved within the baby quality scheme.

Amy Chadwick - Early Years Educator

Amy joined Norland Nursery when it opened in August 2009.  The nursery was Amy’s first post following her studies at Bath College where she gained a Level 3 in Early Years Care and Education. Amy is taking a lead role within developing the education opportunities available to the toddlers within the nursery, and will be working alongside Nicki and Claudia in the technology room to extend the natural investigations of young learners.

Tonia Eades - Early Years Educator

Tonia has two children of her own and has worked in childcare for the past 13 years . She has been involved in a variety of settings from pre-schools to after school clubs. Tonia currently holds a Level 3 Qualification in Childcare and an Assessor award. Tonia enjoys working with children because she enjoys helping them discover, learn and grow.

Lucy Greenaway - Early Years Educator

Lucy trained at Norland College and gained the Norland Diploma following successful completion of her probationary year.  Lucy remained with her nanny family for a further three years until her charge went to school at which point Lucy joined Norland Nursery.  Lucy is key in the leading the creative developments within the nursery, she recently participated within the 5x5x5=creativity project and now uses many transferable skills in supporting children to develop creative skills and actions in all aspects of their work.

Heather Hall - Early Years Educator

Heather completed a Diploma in Childcare and Education in 2006. Following her training, she worked as a nanny for Mark Warner for three ski seasons, prior to returning to Bath.  Heather’s additional nursery experience includes working in a small nursery setting, where she developed a vast skill base that she has transferred to her work at Norland. 

Heather shows a deep passion for young children’s learning, and particularly enjoys the opportunity to provide interesting sensory experiences.

Claudia Jenkinson - Early Years Educator

Claudia trained at Bath College, gaining a BTEC National Diploma in Early Years.  Prior to joining the Norland team Claudia gained two and half years experience working in local nurseries. Clauida’s passion lies in working with children across nursery age ranges, supporting children to investigate particularly through incorporating ICT into children’s play and discovery.

Agne Naulyte - Early Years Educator

Agne joined the Norland Nursery team in June 2011.  From Mama Bears Day Nursery where she was a room leader. Agne has a BA (Hons) Early Childhood Studies and holds Early Years Professional Status.

Agne is always there for the children making sure everyday is happy and enjoyable for them. 

Alice Pullin - Early Years Educator

Alicejoined Norland Nursery in Spring 2010. Prior to joining the Norland Team, Alice worked in Africa teaching in schools, and offering hugely valued support to children within orphanages. Alice loves working within a nursery where anything is possible and uses her natural creativity to lead on specialist activities including baby yoga and massage. Alice is hoping to further her studies by completing a level three qualification in the New Year.

Sophie Sipila- Early Years Educator

Sophie completed a Bachelor of Education for the compulsory school in 2005 and studied ethics and values for an additional year at Stockholm Institute of Education in Sweden.

Sophie joined the Norland Nursery team in October 2011. She has had several years of experience working in schools and nurseries in Sweden, Norway and England. Sophie works alongside Danielle and Kerry in the Reflection Room. She enjoys being outside and being creative with the children and finds this very rewarding.

Kerry Leigh Swift - Early Years Educator

Kerry is has an NVQ level 3 and is currently completing a Foundation Degree in Early Years. Kerry has 4 years experience in Early Years and before joining the team at Norland Kerry worked for a local nursery as a room leader for 3 years. 

Kerry enjoys being creative and exploring heuristic materials in the Reflection Room in the nursery. She also enjoys quieter times such as reading stories together in the baby cave! 

Samantha Wallis - Early Years Educator

 

 

 

Hannah Webb - Early Years Educator

Hannah completed a BTEC National Diploma in 2008, following which she joined the nursery workforce with a post focusing on under twos. Hannah moved from this setting to Norland Nursery in June 2010 and is now a valued member of the team. Hannah holds responsibility for the baby quality scheme, and so focuses her energies into the learning environments provided for the youngest of our children.

Danielle White - Early Years Educator

Danielle has worked in child care for nearly nine years, during which time she has gained valuable experience within three day nurseries and also within a private family home.

Danielle’s passion for the very youngest of children is clearly displayed in the wide range of opportunities she presents to the children within her care.
